You Don't Need a Five-Year Plan Today

Some days, the only reasonable goal is the next hour. That's allowed to be enough.

On the hardest days, the pressure to have a plan — for your career, your healing, your life — can make an already heavy day feel unbearable. It's worth remembering that plans are not required every day. Some days, the only honest, reasonable goal is getting through the next hour.

Getting through today isn't a lesser achievement than long-term progress. It's often what long-term progress is quietly built from — one difficult day survived without needing to have it all figured out.

If today is one of those days, you don't need a five-year plan. You need the next small thing. That's genuinely enough.
